Corbrook is a community-based service organization that has been helping people with varying levels of abilities and their families for over seventy years. Our person-directed philosophy and approach supports people to make informed decisions and personal choices that will help them achieve their goals. HOW CAN CORBROOK HELP ME?

We have helped thousands of people just like you become more independent, enhance your skills and enjoy a higher quality of life. Our wide range of Services and supported community activities are designed to meet your needs: whether you want to attain paid or volunteer work experience, or simply to have more fun, make friends and learn something new. Not only that, at Corbrook, we believe in and practice person-directed planning, so you are always in charge as you progress towards achieving your goals.

ARE CORBROOK'S SERVICES OPEN TO ANYONE?

We are funded by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services, through Developmental Services Ontario – Toronto Region, which means that our services are currently open to persons with a developmental disability (whether or not that person has additional physical needs and / or developmental issues). ODSP Employment Supports are open to anyone receiving ODSP.

Corbrook works hard to build relationships – with other service agencies, local businesses, individuals, families and volunteers – so we can help you connect with the community resources and supports that are available to you. We also take an active role as members of various associations that provide a wealth of information, expertise and resources that we can share with the people we support. WHAT IS INVOLVED WHEN APPLYING FOR SERVICES?

Our staff are happy to give you as much information as possible on the services that we provide. Then, when you are ready to apply for services, you will need to connect with Developmental Services Ontario – Toronto Region toll-free at 1-855-DSADULT (1-855-372-3858) or TTY 416-925-0295.

IS THERE A WAITING LIST?

There are currently wait lists for certain services. Our staff can provide you with information specific to the services you are interested in.

IS THERE A FEE FOR YOUR SERVICES?

Most of our services are funded by Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services, through Developmental Services Ontario – Toronto Region. For eligible individuals, no fees will be required. If you do not qualify for funding under a government program or are on a wait list, you may still take advantage of our exceptional services on a fee-for-service basis. If you would like to register for a Fee for Service/Passport Program, please call our main line at 416-245-5565 or email info@corbrook.com.

WHAT FUNDING MAY BE AVAILABLE TO ME?

Under the new Service and Supports to Promote the Social Inclusion of Persons with Developmental Disabilities Act, 2008 the funding criteria will be changing to give more control to people wanting to purchase services.

WHAT IS THE PASSPORT INITIATIVE?

Funded by the Province of Ontario, the Passport Initiative aims to give more financial control and options to people with developmental disabilities through direct purchase of day support services from various developmental service organizations. WHAT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES ARE AVAILABLE?

DO YOU OFFER STUDENT PLACEMENTS?

Through our established partnerships with various colleges and universities, every year Corbrook provides students with the opportunity to complete part of their academic requirements, in a fun, challenging, and highly social environment. CAN I COME AND LOOK AROUND YOUR FACILITIES?

DO YOU PROVIDE TRANSPORTATION TO YOUR FACILITIES?
