These programs allow individuals and families access to all of Corbrook’s services that will be tailored to their needs, and enables more flexibility in choosing the services that work best for them.

Corbrook’s respite services allow youth aged 14 – 18 the chance to explore their interests in a social and supportive setting, with stimulating activities and education to help them learn about what services may be available as they become adults. Respite provides families with time to focus on alternative priorities.

Summer

Summer Camp Respite will give you an opportunity to discover the many exciting events and activities happening in Toronto. Enjoy skills building and fun-filled activities including, but not limited to day trips, cooking, dance, fitness, social skill-building and a variety of recreational opportunities.
Cost: $475 per week
Dates: July – August
Times: 8:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

March Break

March break Respite camp will give you an opportunity to participate in fun activities with peers while your family members have a planned break. Enjoy skill building and fun-filled activities including, exciting day trips, cooking, dance, fitness, social skill-building and a variety of recreational opportunities.

Weekend

Weekend Respite provides relief while introducing participants to all that Toronto offers. You will participate in a combination of skill-building and fun activities. This service is a great way for you to develop relationships, hang out with friends, explore interests and enjoy group activities. Activities include exciting day trips, cooking, dance, computers skills, fitness, social and recreational skill building plus much more.
Cost: $42 per day

Day Support Program: REVEL

Come be a part of Recreation Education Volunteerism Entertainment Life Skills Program (REVEL)! Whether you are looking for fun activities to participate in, build your social skills or learn to become more independent; REVEL can help. The programs offered are tailored to participants’ individual interests. You can choose from a wide range of activities that take place in the community or at one of our centres of learning.

Activities can include but are not limited to:

  • Arts and crafts
  • Cooking and Nutrition
  • Expressive journaling
  • Exercise and nutrition
  • Life skills workshops
  • Literacy
  • Money management
  • Socializing and community exploration

Success Through Education Employment and Retention

This 16-week pre-employment training program will prepare you for today’s competitive job market! Steer includes cutting-edge training with a curriculum developed by Corbrook’s business and educational partners in 3 sector- specific areas: janitorial, general labour and retail.

Training includes but is not limited to:

  • Employment Ethics
  • Work place standards
  • Heather and wellness
  • Resume writing and interview skills

You will have the opportunity to participate in experiential learning on-site and learn job search and retention strategies. While participating in 4 weeks of on-the-job training with a variety of employer partners, Corbrook will provide individualized accommodation analysis and plans.

Person Directed Planning can assist individuals with developmental disabilities to set goals and find community connections, services and/or supports with the help of their family and/or significant others of their choice. Individuals can identify abilities and interests, make connects to social and recreational activities, enhance independence skills and find volunteer, employment and or/educational opportunities (if appropriate). The focus of planning is based on the goals individuals set.

Our qualified staff provide individualized supports for people that may require additional assistance to participate in their communities. We can support people to explore their city, assist with travel training and access programs and services that they may not be able to do independently.

Cost: $105 – $210 (based on needs and outcomes desired)

In the Community Exploration Program we visit some amazing places in the GTA. On these outings we practice navigating the TTC system, work on team building skills, social skills, community awareness, life skills and always have amazing time while learning something new!
Cost: $58 per day*
